How to Fix Unc0ver Jailbreak Problems in iOS 13 – iOS 13.5

Over the weekend, the Unc0ver team updated their tool to support jailbreak to iPhone 11 / Pro, iPhone XS / XR with iOS 13 – iOS 13.5. However, since the tool has just been released to the public, it is far from perfect and has several problems. If you’ve been trying to jailbreak your iPhone using Unc0ver but had problems, check out some possible solutions for them.

The Unc0ver team will be improving their jailbreak tool as it continues to receive more feedback from its users. In the meantime, you will have to find workarounds to the errors you have or wait for the team to update the tool if the jailbreak process continues to fail for you. Below are some workarounds to errors you may have while trying to jailbreak your iPhone 11 / Pro, iPhone XS / XR using Unc0ver.

Unable to install Unc0ver using AltStore

Are you trying to install Unc0ver on your iPhone using AltStore but having problems? There may be various reasons behind this. Your best option is to simply use a Mac to install Unc0ver on your iPhone using AltStore. The Windows version of the application has some issues while the Mac version is relatively bug-free.

Can’t download apps from the App Store

If you can’t download or update apps from the App Store on your iPhone after jailbreaking using Unc0ver, you are not alone. This problem was present in the first build of Unc0ver for iOS 13 – iOS 13.3 which the team has since fixed. You must download and install the latest Unc0ver IPA on your iPhone and re-jailbreak it to correct this problem.

If it still doesn’t work, you need to install the Appsync Unified patch from Karen’s repo to fix this problem once and for all.

App notifications not received

Likewise, if you are not receiving app notifications on your iPhone after jailbreaking it, update to the latest version of Unc0ver and then jailbreak the device again. This should solve the app notifications problem once and for all.

Unc0ver jailbreak process failed

The Unc0ver app may keep crashing when jailbreaking your device. The application may hang or appear stuck. In such a case, you need to close the Unc0ver application, clear the entire application cache, restart your iPhone, activate Airplane mode, and then try again to jailbreak your device.

Here is another method that seems to have worked for many users in the / r / jailbreak community :

  • Turn on the device
  • Close all background apps
  • Enable Airplane mode
  • Open Unc0ver
  • Open settings, scroll down to the end
  • Go to view (update) widgets
  • Return to main screen
  • Close the Unc0ver application
  • Open the Unc0ver application, go to settings, check “Auto-Respring”
  • Go to the main screen of Unc0ver
  • Count to 5-10 (CPU recovery time)
  • Press Jailbreak

You may need to repeat the above steps 1-3 times but it will eventually work.

Cydia not accessible

If you can’t access Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone, open the Unc0ver app on your iPhone / iPad, open Settings, and select to reinstall Cydia followed by resetting the Cydia cache options.

Apple ID not accepted

If you can’t add your Apple ID to the AltStore or it’s showing an error, try using a different Apple ID. You may need to create a new one for this purpose.

The option ‘Open in …’ does not appear for the AltStore

If you don’t see the option to open the Unc0ver IPA in the ‘Open in…’ menu on your PC, simply visit the Unc0ver website and tap the download button on your iPhone. This will automatically show you a message to open the application in the AltStore.
